20.10.2025
The Spanish Artisan Bakery Team of CEOPPAN has made history once again by becoming runner-up in the European Bakery Cup “Les Pellons d’Or,” held in Nantes (France) as part of the SERBOTEL trade fair. This long-standing competition, now in its twentieth edition, brings together the best national bakery teams from across the continent.

The team, composed of Daniel Flecha, Santiago Mariel, Joan Serra, and María Bazar, earned second place after a demanding competition against countries such as France, Italy, Hungary, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Under the technical direction of Jesús Sánchez and the leadership of captain José Roldán, the Spanish team once again demonstrated its strength, creativity, and precision.
“It has been tough and intense training, but the effort has paid off. Spain is once again among the elite of European bakery,” said an emotional José Roldán after the award ceremony.
For Salva Industrial, the official sponsor of the Spanish Artisan Bakery Team, it is a great honor to be part of this milestone that consolidates Spain among the major international references in the sector. This runner-up title adds to a historic 2025 for Spanish bakery, with other achievements in the “Bread In The City” International Championship in Rimini and the International Young Bakers Championship in São Paulo.

At Salva, we want to congratulate the entire Espigas team and CEOPPAN for their work, talent, and passion, which inspire new generations of bakers to continue raising the level of Spanish artisan bakery.
In addition to this remarkable achievement, the Espigas team’s performance over the past year reflects a steady upward trajectory marked by dedication, training, and the constant pursuit of excellence. The joint work between team members, coaches, and collaborators such as Salva Industrial has established a model of success based on professionalism and team spirit.
In this edition of the European Cup, the Spanish team stood out for its balance of technique, creativity, and precision, presenting pieces that impressed the jury for their execution and ability to combine innovation with tradition. From artistic creations to reinterpreted classic breads, the national team demonstrated that Spanish artisan bakery is on par with the world’s greatest.
This European recognition is not only another medal for CEOPPAN’s showcase but also a major boost for the national bakery sector, highlighting the value of craftsmanship and the importance of technology applied to artisan work. The collaboration between industry and artisans—where Salva Industrial plays a key role—is a clear example of how innovation can serve human talent to achieve the highest quality standards.
A historic year that reinforces the leadership and international recognition of Spanish artisan bakery.
